Looking at Annika Aschberg‘s blog (she took a beautiful portrait of Noomi Rapace. Yes, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo), I’ve found an excerpt from “Ménilmontant”: a movie of the early 20th century. All these kind of films have a lot of poetry inside and, despite so many years have passed, are able to tell a story with the same strength and magnetism.
Ménilmontant (1926) – France, starring Nadia Sibirskaia.
Little Toys (1933) – China, starring Ruan Ling-yu who committed suicide at age 24.
The Saga of Gosta Berling (1924) – Sweden , starring Greta Garbo and Lars Hanson.
